Nice to meet you!

My name is Amy Denton-Luke (she/her). I live in Montana with my husband Dave and my dog Lucy. I’m a rockhound, writer, and outdoors lover with a background in anthropology and a growing interest in advocacy work. I have struggled with illness since birth, became disabled in 2015, and continue to live with chronic pain, fatigue, and cognitive dysfunction, as well as various mobility issues. I created this blog in January 2022 to discuss topics affecting people with chronic illness and disabilities, and to encourage everyone to find ways to explore the outdoors! You can find me on Instagram, YouTube, and, of course, right here on my blog.

Thank you for visiting!

My Mission

Amy looks over her shoulder while standing with her forearm crutches on a shallow riverbed in front of a blue-green river, with small mountains in the background

Writing about Illness & Disability

I write about living with chronic illness and disabilities to process my experiences, help other chronically ill and disabled folks feel less alone, and educate non-disabled people on what it’s like to live with illness and disabilities.

Reviewing Outdoor Spaces

I write reviews for the public outdoor spaces in the Missoula area to help other chronically ill and disabled people in my community find outdoor recreation opportunities that fit their interests and accessibility needs.

Sharing Adventure Photos

Pictures can be a powerful tool for encouraging and empowering other disabled folks to explore the outdoors, normalizing disabled people in outdoor spaces, and changing perceptions on what it means to be disabled.

Creating YouTube Videos

There was a time when I lived vicariously through other people’s adventures, and now I help others live vicariously by creating my own adventure videos! I occasionally turn my blog posts into YouTube videos as well.

Proud member of the
Diversify Outdoors Coalition

"We are a coalition of social media influencers – bloggers, athletes, activists, and entrepreneurs – who share the goal of promoting diversity in outdoor spaces where people of color, 2SLGBTQ+, and other diverse identities have historically been underrepresented. We are passionate about promoting equity and access to the outdoors for all, that includes being body positive and celebrating people of all skill levels and abilities."
